A long-time member of Alpha Flight, Walter Langkowski has the ability to transform at will into the fearsome and powerful Sasquatch. He gained his powers while trying to duplicate the conditions that had created the Hulk, but inadvertently fused his body with the essence of the Great Beast, Tanaraq, instead.

Origin Walter and Bruce Walter Langkowski is from Vancouver , BC, Canada. Langkowski went to Pennsylvania state University on a football scholarship where he met Bruce Banner and shared thoughts on physics and gamma radiation. Banner would encourage Lankowski to peruse his research. Langkowski played American Football with the Green Bay Packers for three years during which time he married and had a son with an actress called Veronica. Being a multi-millionaire freed Langkowski from many constraints and he pursued his dreams of becoming a scientist by getting a Ph.D in Physics from MIT and then going on to get a teaching position at McGill University in Montreal. First change During his time as a Professor of biophysics Langkowski sunk about a million dollars of his own money into Gamma radiation research motivated partly by a desire to help his old friend Bruce Banner who by now had become the Hulk . The research lead to an alienation with his wife who left and took his son with him. Langkowski became involved in science for Department H a relatively new government department making equipment and offering scientific advise.
