Creation Howard Chaykin created the Scorpion in The Scorpion #1 , when Chaykin joined Marvel few months later he used the characters likeness and created Dominic Fortune . Gabriel Levy and Jim Craig took over this character in issue 3 and time jumped the story 30 years. They also revamped the character after his apparent death, with a new identity of David Harper and more super-hero themed costume.
