While Swoop is usually friendly and outgoing, Snarl is quiet and withdrawn. Swoop loves his dinosaur alt-mode but Snarl finds his to be very ungainly. Combined with the dread that he will be stuck on Earth, never to see his beloved Cybertron again, makes Snarl a very miserable individual. As he himself one said, "As much as I enjoy bustin' 'Con heads, everything I did was so one day I could go back to the simple life I once led. But, see, I got a bad feelin'......there ain't no goin' back there." The one thing that seems to cheer him up is the thrill of battle against the Decepticons . Although he isn't dumb, Snarl leaves the thinking to others, mainly Grimlock . His obedience and love of battle makes Snarl Grimlock's favorite soldier out of the whole Dinobot group.
