Who is Somon?

Somon the Artificer is the oldest and most powerful of the Great Beasts and acts as their leader. He is also, however, the most frail. Somon seems to be a trickster. When Alpha Flight ventured into the Realm of the Beasts, he tricked several members and almost stole their souls. He was apparently destroyed by Snowbird , but it turn out to by an illusion to trick her, since he has appeared later. Creation Somon was created by John Byrne in 1985 and first appeared in Alpha Flight # 24.
