Who is Tex Granger?
Tex Granger was one of a seeming army of gimlet eyed (squinty) straight shooting law men found in the comics in the 1940s, in Tex’s case as part of Parent Magazine’s very small and short lived comics line, so you know he was more straight lace they most, he lived right, rode hard and never told a lie. In 1948 the character was turned into a masked vigilante in a 15 part serial, however though it’s lead character was called Tex Granger, and it was advertised as being based on the “world famous” comic book character, the serial was really based on a silent film from 1926 that in turn was based on a novel that otherwise had nothing to do with Tex Granger. Tex has not appeared since Parent Magazine got out of comics in the 50s.
