Who is Tondu?

A former naval officer, Tondu became a private detective who is one of the main opponents of worldwide criminal organization The White Hand and its leader Monsieur Choc . Along with his partner, Tif , the two of them have embarked on many adventures and solved countless cases across the world. The word "Tondu" is French slang for "sheared" or "shaven" despite his hairiness. His partner Tif shares a similar irony in his name. The character was originally created, written and drawn by Fernand Dineur , and was most popular when drawn by the cartoonist, Will . The series ran from 1938 to 1997.
