Vargas kills Psylocke with his incredible sword skills and wounds Rogue and Beast . Vargas disappears with one of the diaries and to his surprise, saw his death predicted by the diary. He tries to prevent this from happening by killing Rogue during the Madripoor invasion. Vargas returns to the city to retrieve his sword when he is confronted by Rogue wearing Psylocke's costume. The two battle each other and Rogue eventually won, meaning the prediction of the diary was going to be correct.
