Origin Nothing is known about Vernon Glute. He inherited great wealth, or became very wealthy, at some point in his life. Using his vast wealth he became a gourmand. Creation Vernon Glute was created by Steve Skeates and Bernie Wrightson . He made his first appearance in Plop! #1 . Major Story Arcs The Gourmet Enjoying his favourite meal of frog legs, Glute orders his chef to prepare a fresh batch when the first bowl is undercooked. He is set upon by legless frogs, who cut off his legs and mutate him by unknown means into a human-frog hybrid. He is forced to work as a fly-catcher Powers and Abilities Vernon Glute has a frog-like tongue that can be extended well beyond the reach of a normal human tongue, and used to snare objects out of the air.
