Who is Volton?

History Holyoke Volton, the Electric Man Volton's true identity remains unknown but he gained his electrical powers after he was struck by lightning. Volton fell into the public domain along with less popular superheroes from the Golden Age of Comic Books after World War II . Marvel Volton, along with Strongman , Doctor Nemesis , Spider Queen , and The Human Meteor , were retcon by Roy Thomas at Marvel Comics in 1993. In this new continuity, Volton was given a proper origin story . It was revealed that Volton was in fact an android built by James Bradley - the co-creator of the original Human Torch . Volton started out being a hero until it developed a short circuit and went bad. Volton fought against The Invaders as a member of Battle-Axis alongside his creator. After the battle, Volton turned on his creator and killed him.
