Vostok is a Marvel comic book character, the alter ego of Anatoli, with over 55 comic issue appearances. Vostok formerly known as Sputnik is an original member of the Supreme Soviets that has the ability to manipulate mechanical systems.

Who is Vostok?

History The machine once used to be a man named Anatoli worked as a scientist experimenting with an alien vessel found by the USSR. While conducting his research, an incident occurred where he became an amalgam of synthetics and machinery due to fusing with said foreign technology. Deciding to no longer go by the human name that he once had, he eventually become an original member of the Supreme Soviets . His first team mission was to confront Darkstar , Ursa Major and Vanguard for defecting from the Soviet Union and becoming traitors to their motherland. Fantasia cast an illusion spell and disguised the Supreme Soviets as members of the Avengers . Vostok was disguised as the Vision and was able to disrupt Darkstar's neurons during battle. But an energy form comprising of Darkstar's Darkforce Energies coupled with the consciousness of the three Winter Guardsmen dolled out penance to him ans his co-conspirators Steel Guardian and Fantasma for their actions, trapping them within the darkness construct until Captain America freed their minds. Creation Vostok was created by Mark Gruenwald , Kieron Dwyer and Al Milgrom in 1989 and first appeared in Captain America # 352.
