Storyline Ashbury Armstrong was a 17-year-old blind daughter of the Daily Planet's conservative columnist Dirk Armstrong . When she was kidnapped by an estranged individual who was enraged at Dirk's editorials, Ashbury was saved by Ceritak, an resident of the bottle city of Kandor whom she befriended. For a brief time, Ashbury had several adventures with Ceritak, Jimmy Olsen, and the sorceress Misa. Ashbury and Ceritak later accompanied Superman on a trip to Kandor, and battled the Cyborg Superman who was trying to take over the Bottle City.
