Origin Born out of wedlock to her teenage mother, Myra Connelly , Jackie Connelly was given up to an orphanage for children with special needs at a young age. Creation Jackie was created by Dennis O'Neil and Denys Cowan . She made her first appearance in The Question #3 . Major Story Arcs The Question Jackie is used as blackmail to force her mother to marry Mayor Fermin . Later, she is kidnapped and drugged by Reverend Hatch , who attempts to sacrifice her. He is stopped by the Question , and Jackie is returned to live in the orphanage. During a day trip with her mother she and Myra are attacked by Cathy Fregosi , but saved by Harold . When Question leaves Hub City as it descends into chaos, Jackie is sent with him to seek a safer life.
