Who is Mike Mist?

Mike Mist is the long running, but short paged feature created by Max Allan Collins and Terry Beatty. Called Mike Mist, Minute Mysteries they consist of a one page pun and in joke filled mystery in which clues to solve it are all on that page, which usually goes from 6 to 8 panels. Elsewhere in the comic the solution to the mystery is given. Mike Mist was the first character created by the team of Collins & Beatty who later went on to create Ms Tree as well as revive Mike Danger and Johnny Dynamite. The Mike Mist pages have appeared in a number of different comics from E-Man to Ms Tree, and at one point he was even given more than 1 page when it was shown in the Collins, Beatty revival of Johnny Dynamite that Mike Mist had at one time worked for Dynamite and taken over his office when he had retired. Starting in an underground comic called The Comic Pages, Mike Mist has followed wherever Collins and Beatty have taken Ms Tree, going from First, to Aardvark, then to Renegade, however when Ms Tree was picked up by DC they did not take Mike. Not that that will stop him.
