These effects are affected by his emotional state and can affect whatever happens to be the object of his thoughts. He has at times been placed under the protection of Tigra and the original Spider-Woman . Later, as a resident of the Heartbreak Hotel, a refuge for displaced mutants, he encountered the Dazzler and the Beast , and formed a close friendship with another of the hotel's residents, a telekinetic called Link .
