He has at times been placed under the protection of Tigra and the original Spider-Woman . Later, as a resident of the Heartbreak Hotel, a refuge for displaced mutants, he encountered the Dazzler and the Beast , and formed a close friendship with another of the hotel's residents, a telekinetic called Link .
