Overview Snake is a recurring thief in the Simpsons. He often steals from the Kwik-E-Mart and is sent to jail when he is caught, though he somehow always escapes. Origins Chester Turley, or Snake Jailbird, also known as Professor Jailbird and Detention Bird. In a documentary made by Declan Desmond showing the pasts of several residents of Springfield, a 13-year-old Snake named "Detention Bird" is being chased around by a 16-year-old Clancy Wiggum . Snake has called himself Professor Jailbird on occasions, and it is revealed that he used to be a Indiana Jones-type archeologist , until Moe stole Mayan gold coins that Snake discovered and was going to donate to a museum. Since then, Snake vowed to get revenge on society by robbing convienance stores. Creation Snake Jailbird was first introduced to the world in 1991, he was created by Matt Groening . Weapons & Equipment Snake has a lot of guns on him, including pistols and shotguns.
