Who Is Taarna? Origin, Powers and Key Facts

Taarna is a Heavy Metal comic book character, with over 25 comic issue appearances. A strong, beautiful warrior maiden who resolves to avenge a city destroyed by a horde of mutated barbarians.

Who is Taarna?

History Taarna She is the last of the proud warrior race Taarakians. She was summoned by the elders of a city in a far planet, that was under attack of mutants corrupted by the "sum of all evils" the Loc Nar. However she arrives to late to save the people and swears to avenge their deaths. Her search leads to the barbarians' stronghold, where she is captured, tortured and left for dead. With the help of her avian mount, she escapes and confronts the mutant leader. Though wounded, she defeats him. With Taarna readying her final attack on the Loc-Nar, it pleads to her not to "sacrifice" herself. She does not relent, and her self-sacrifice destroys the Loc-Nar.
