Edited by William Michael Rossetti, it showcased works by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Christina Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown, and other Brotherhood members. Despite its ambitious vision of uniting poetry and visual art, the magazine survived only four issues, selling fewer than 100 copies each.
