A member of the Major Crimes Unit on the Gotham City Police Department , Soong was initially teamed with Harvey Bullock . He was nicknamed 'Survivor', as he came safely through many dangerous situations, most notably being shot by a bullet intended for his partner, though the injury cost him one of his kidneys. Soong was present at James Gordon 's retirement dinner, and is still a police detective, but it is not known where he serves.
